Board of Directors Annual Meeting

ORFD will be hosting their Annual Board of Directors Meeting tomorrow evening (Tuesday 6/20) @ 6:30pm. Elections will be held for open board positions with snacks provided. All Orange Rural Fire District property owners are urged to attend.

Trench Rescue Class

ORFD Officers are spending the week participating in a Trench Rescue class along with Durham, Chapel Hill, & Eno FD.

Trench rescue is a specialized form of rescue, a subset of confined space rescue. Trench rescue involves shoring up the sides of a trench, and digging a trapped worker out of a collapsed ditch. Trench rescue is one of the most dangerous rescue operations to complete.... (Full Story & Photos)

Live Fire Training

ORFD members participated in live fire training with PSNC in Cary, NC. Participants trained on the physical properties of natural gas, safety and portable fire extinguishers. Members practiced extinguishing fires in situations where PSNC employees were in danger while working on gas utilities. Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings
