Department Hosting Training Burn

On January 25th, Orange Rural Fire Department will be hosting a county wide fire department mutual aid training session in the 3000 block of NC Highway 57. Firefighters from around the area will converge on the site to practice fire suppression tactics, hose line movement, air pack use and rural water supply operations. Concrete Truck Overturns on Highway 70 Bypass

At 3:24 this afternoon, A-Shift responded to a report of a truck overtured down an embankment with the driver still inside along US 70 Bypass just east of Hillsborough. The first arriving crew found a concrete truck with a partial load of concrete still inside, overturned down the embankment on US 70 Bypass just east of the intersection with Lawrence Road. Department Participates in Toy Drive

For the third year, we are partnering with Hillsborough Police Department to collect toys for distribution to needy children. This year our efforts will be a little more wide spread than just here at home. This year we plan to divide our efforts and send toys to children in western North Carolina and children in our own town. Donations will be collected at the Hillsborough Fire Station located at ... Well look no further, our friends at New Hope Fire Department and our friends at White Cross Fire Department have fresh cut, North Carolina Christmas Trees available at their stations for purchase. These departments worked with growers from impacted areas of western North Carolina to harvest and haul the trees to their stations here in Orange County.
