The supply needs for western North Carolina have shifted a little

Several large companies and many private citizens have donated cases of bottled water. We are getting word that tractor trailer loads of water are now arriving so please refrain from donating cases of water. Still needed are baby food, baby bottles, cleaning supplies, generators, shelf worthy food that will last such as soups, packaged meals, etc... shovels, and money. To quote our Emergency Services Director Kirby Saunders, "this (recovery) is not a sprint, it's a marathon". The recovery efforts will last for years and will take thousands, if not millions of hours of labor and hard work. Please keep supporting the recovery and keep a look out for specific supplies requests as they change. Keep in mind that this impacted farms and animals as much as it did families. Animal feed, fostering stray animals, etc... are also needed. If you want to get involved, seek out volunteer opportunities in the areas that were impacted through VOAD.
