On January 25th, Orange Rural Fire Department will be hosting a county wide fire department mutual aid training session in the 3000 block of NC Highway 57. Firefighters from around the area will converge on the site to practice fire suppression tactics, hose line movement, air pack use and rural water supply operations. Through this type of training, personnel will gain knowledge and experience in building construction, fire behavior and teamwork associated with working along side their neighboring departments. Training will start around 9am and should conclude around 4pm. Anyone wishing to stop and observe the firefighters in action are urged to do so safely by getting completely off the roadway before stopping to look. Anyone traveling through the area should expect potential traffic congestion related to the training event. For questions about this training or anything else related to the fire department, contact us through our web site or social media, call the station or stop by and we'll be glad to assist you.
