At 22:17 hours this evening, C-Shift responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on I85 between mile marker 165 and 170. Engine 234, Chief 201 and Eno Squad 333 and Eno Chief 305 responded to the call. Within six minutes of dispatch, Chief 201 located the crash in the median at the end of the northbound I85 on ramp from NC Highway 86. The crash involved two vehicles such that one ended up on top of the center median guardrail and the other ended up approximately one quarter mile further down the interstate. Orange county EMS Medic 5 arrived and handled patient care. One person was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. C-Shift and Chief 201 stood by and managed traffic flow until Eastgate Towing arrived to retrieve the vehicle and debris from the guardrail.
