Home Defense for Wildland Fires

We had a busy weekend around the county dealing with fires that spread to wooded areas and lawns. Our friends at Eno Fire and Rescue had the largest wildland fire with around 12 acres burned and many houses saved.

Call volume and training over the past seven days has put our crews through the ringer.
Starting on Wednesday February 19th, we responded to multiple vehicle crashes along Interstates 85 and 40. These incidents began when snow fall made travel conditions difficult and lasted until well into the morning of February 20th. Department Hosting Training Burn

On January 25th, Orange Rural Fire Department will be hosting a county wide fire department mutual aid training session in the 3000 block of NC Highway 57.

At 3:24 this afternoon, A-Shift responded to a report of a truck overtured down an embankment with the driver still inside along US 70 Bypass just east of Hillsborough.
The first arriving crew found a concrete truck with a partial load of concrete still inside, overturned down the embankment on US 70 Bypass just east of the intersection with Lawrence Road.
